When the englishlessons goes in one direction.

I don't want to brag or anything, but I'm becoming pro in planning lessons in English. I'm at the office at the moment, waiting for the clock to turn five so todays lesson can start. Today we're gonna listen to One Direction (yes, that's the plan), read lyrics, fill in missing words (just reading the lyrics and listen to the song is too easy) and then translate to Ukrainian/Russian. My students? They are between 25-50, some of them are complete newbies in English and some are on a bit better level.

Why this exercise? Pretty easy explanation - they get trained in listening to english word for word, figure out words by just listening to them, and then a lot of new vocabulary from the lyrics and the translation. If you're faced with teaching english and have nothing to do for a lesson - perfect exercise!

It hurts to say, but I actually like this song. Might be because the lyrics are written by Ed Sheeran? Too bad he didn't sing the song...
